Tradescantia zebrina - 8" Hanging Basket

Tradescantia zebrina, commonly known as Wandering Jew, is a fast-growing trailing plant cherished for its striking, purple-tinged leaves with silver stripes and rich green undersides. Its vibrant, cascading stems make it a favorite for hanging baskets, shelves, or as a colorful accent in mixed planters. Easy to care for and resilient, it adds a bold, tropical touch to indoor spaces or shaded outdoor gardens.

Care Guide:

• Light: Bright, indirect light brings out the best leaf color. Can tolerate some direct morning sun, but harsh afternoon sun may scorch leaves.

• Watering: Keep soil lightly moist; allow the top 1–2 inches to dry between waterings. Avoid waterlogged soil.

• Temperature: Thrives in 60–80°F (15–27°C); protect from frost and cold drafts.

• Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity but tolerates average indoor levels.

• Soil: Well-draining potting mix; adding perlite or sand helps prevent root rot.

• Fertilizer: Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer.

• Pruning: Trim back leggy stems to encourage bushier growth and maintain shape.

• Propagation: Easily propagated from stem cuttings placed in soil or water.
