Fundraisers and groups
Raise money with plants people actually want
Schools, churches and booster clubs sell our spring hanging baskets and fall mums. We grow and sort every order, and your group handles the sales."
Brands we grow
Our story
We grew for everyone else first
Alsip's Kingsbury Acres spent years growing for garden centers and landscapers across the Midwest before it sold a single plant to the public. In 2014 we opened a retail area on site, and we still grow every crop the way we did for our wholesale customers.
Why customers choose us
The AKA Advantage
Since we grow what we sell, we control the quality at every stage. We give each crop the pot size, fertilizer and room it needs, so you take home a fuller, healthier plant.
Spacing
We grow our mums with 50% more spacing than the recommended allotment. It takes up more bench and rack space, but each plant gets room to fill out on every side.
Selection
Over 1,000 varieties, from premium annuals and hanging baskets through perennials, shrubs, vegetables, herbs, and houseplants.
Pricing
Most annuals, perennials and shrubs cost ~ 30% less than the same plant at our main Alsip stores, because you're buying direct from the grower.
The people
Our team brings more than 35 years of wholesale greenhouse experience, and they're happy to answer your plant questions.
Fundraising
We run plant fundraisers for schools, churches and booster clubs, and we host open houses through the season. If your group wants in, ask at the counter.
Still building
We're adding more greenhouses over the next several years, with updated growing equipment.
