Growth & Care

• Mature Size: Typically grows 10–16 feet tall with a narrow spread of about 4–5 feet, giving vertical impact without dominating horizontal space.

• Light Requirements: Thrives in full sun for best flowering performance.

• Hardiness Zones: Suitable for USDA zones 5-9, offering broad adaptability across climates.

• Soil & Water: Performs well in average, well-drained soils; moderate watering supports establishment.

• Landscape Uses: Ideal for vertical accents, narrow hedges, patio containers, foundation plantings, and small garden spaces where width is limited.

Purple Pillar® Rose of Sharon adds structure, color, and season-long interest to landscapes where traditional spreading shrubs may not fit. Its striking upright form and prolific blooms make it a standout choice for both contemporary and classic garden designs.
